The versatility of glass has made it one of the most popular of modern construction materials, and one of the main reasons for this is the range of colours and finishes that can be achieved.

SANDBLASTED/ACID ETCHED GLASS
An obscured glass that has a diffusing effect reducing visibility but still allows light transmittance. This versatile glass has many uses, but is particularly suited for internal partitioning, privacy screens and back lit features. A full range of densities are available from lightly dusted through to fully diffused, and the process can be used to treat the whole surface of a panel, or selectively to create lettering, logos, patterns or artwork. Further details can be found in our Sandblasted and Acid Etched Glass datasheet.

MIRRORS
Whether your requirements are for a basic mirror, or a more elaborate design, Saper Glass can help you. We offer a full processing service, and can provide shaped mirrors, bevelled edgework and sandblasted designs. Saper Glass also offer a full range of safety mirrors, from safety backed which remains intact if the glass is broken, through to an impact resistant mirror that in addition to safety backing, also includes a shock absorbing layer that can reduce the possibility of accidental breakage.

BODY TINTED GLASS
Also known as antisun glass due to its solar control properties. The colour is an integral part of the glass, present through out its entire thickness, however this glass is transparent, and in its natural form offers high levels of light transmittance and visibly. In addition to standard bronze and grey, body tinted glass is also available in blue and green. Body tinted glass can also be sandblasted or acid etched to create a visually striking diffused effect, particularly when back lit.

KILN FORMED GLASS
We now offer a comprehensive range of kiln formed glass products as part of the PARAGON GLASS DESIGNS range. In addition to a wide range of standard textures, colours and finishes we can also offer custom designs such as a bespoke texture or a more elaborate piece incorporating lettering, logos or artwork. Further details can be found in our Kilnformed Glass datasheet.

COLOURED LAMINATED GLASS
Particularly suited to partitioning or glazed screens when the glass is viewable from both sides. Unlike a painted glass where the colour is surface applied to one face, the interlayer inside the panel is coloured so is viewed through glass from either face. A full range of colours is available and the interlayer can achieve any opacity from transparent to fully opaque.

BACK PAINTED GLASS
We offer a wide range of products that fall under the banner of “back painted” glass and provide alternatives to traditional ceramic painted glass products. Using specially formulated glass paint, we are able to offer painted glass to any standard RAL or BS colour together with a range of specialist metallic colours. The paint is applied as final process and can be used with float, toughened or even laminated glass. Back painted glass can be used to create wall cladding, vanity tops, bar tops and decorative screen applications.

The painted face is generally viewed through the glass, so unless ultra clear or low iron glass is used the colour will be affected by the greenness present in standard clear glass. The degree of “green tint” increases proportionally with the thickness of the glass, and is more noticeable on whites or light colours. Low iron glass does not contain any greenness, and the true paint colour can be seen correctly through the glass regardless of thickness. The paint finish can be applied all over the face of the glass, or selectively to create borders, banding, patterns or text.

Saperclad is an annealed glass product designed specifically for internal wall cladding applications. The glass is coated with a durable coloured lacquer, and as available prefinished from stock can be provided without the lead times usually associated with painted glass products. Saperclad is suitable for all internal applications including damp and humid areas such as kitchens and bathrooms. In addition to the standard single colour applications, Saper Glass can also provide Versatile, an advanced ceramic baked decoration process, which unlike standard painted glass can be used to produce glass with multi coloured patterns including simulated stone, marble or even wood veneer effects. Versatile can also be used to produce detailed multi-coloured artwork or intricate acid etch effect finishes.
